Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-02

This privacy policy applies to the Private Anaesthesia Companion (PAC) iOS application.

Overview

PAC is an on-device professional support tool for Australian clinicians. PAC is designed to minimise data collection and to keep user-entered content on your device by default.

PAC does not require user accounts and does not collect personal data for advertising or marketing purposes.

Data Collection and Storage

PAC stores information you enter and choose to save. Depending on your use, this may include sensitive information, including health information, that you input into the app.

This may include:

• Run sheet entries and associated details

• Documents saved to the Vault (including generated or imported PDFs)

• Configuration settings, preferences, and saved selections

PAC stores data locally within the iOS app sandbox. Vault documents and run sheet data are encrypted at rest. Encryption keys are stored securely in the iOS Keychain and are not synchronised by the developer.

PAC relies on standard iOS security features including sandboxing and device-level encryption.

Network Transmission

PAC does not transmit user-entered clinical content (including run sheets or Vault documents) to the developer.

PAC may access the network only for limited non-content purposes such as opening website links selected by the user.

iCloud Backup and Sync

PAC does not transmit user data to the developer.

If enabled by the user, app data may be stored in Apple iCloud for backup or synchronisation across devices. iCloud data is encrypted and managed by Apple. The developer does not have access to iCloud-stored data.

iCloud usage is optional and can be disabled via device settings.

Analytics and Diagnostics

PAC does not include third-party advertising SDKs and does not track users across apps or websites.

Apple may provide the developer with limited, aggregated, and de-identified diagnostic information (such as crash reports) to assist with app stability and performance. These reports are controlled by user device settings and are not intended to include user-entered clinical content.

Data Sharing

PAC does not sell, rent, or share user data with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.

If you export, print, or share documents (for example via email, AirDrop, messaging apps, or cloud storage), copies may exist outside PAC. You are responsible for ensuring any sharing complies with your professional obligations, organisational policies, and applicable privacy laws.

Data Retention and Deletion

PAC stores data until you delete it or remove the app. Deleting items within PAC removes them from the app’s local storage.

Uninstalling the app removes locally stored app data from the device. However, device backups or exported copies you create may retain data outside PAC.

Your Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

• the information you enter into PAC

• securing your device using appropriate protections (such as passcode or biometrics)

• complying with applicable privacy, health information, and professional regulations
